Welcome to

King’s Oak School

Bring us your past and leave with your future.

Our Visions and Values

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do.

King’s Oak Vision Statement

King’s Oak SEMH Secondary School is a proactive learning community, which strives to provide an excellent, personalised curriculum for all students. Our fully adaptive approach and environment allows our students, colleagues and community partners to flourish and achieve their potential.

We embody our statement of “Bring us your past and leave with your future” by:

  • Innovation, creativity and collaboration which are actively encouraged to challenge each of us to drive understanding, progress and success within our community - be it students, staff at all levels, linked community partners and Governors.
  • Exploring their mental health and anxieties, fully supported by our staff, our team of trauma trained specialists and community partners.
  • Having a sense of belonging and pride in our community, fostered with high expectations for their own achievements whilst at King’s Oak and beyond.
  • Delivering experiences that give our students the skills and confidence to be a full member of the world community, meeting the challenges and demands of growing up within 21st Century Britain.
  • Encouraging student, parent and staff voice to help us all deliver a truly holistic innovative experience, shaping our values and ethos.

Oak Lodge’s Vision Statement

Oak Lodge commits to supporting those students who may have found that either mainstream, specialist or alternative education had not worked for them and ensuring that they are able to “Achieve your Impossible”. Our highly adapted approach to the curriculum and mental health support enables our students to achieve and prepare for their next steps.

It can feel insurmountable for our students and their families to trust in education, services and the systems that should be available, so our work focuses upon:

  • Ensuring we use all available resources to think of creative and sustainable solutions to support their anxieties and mental health and guide them in accessing support.
  • Developing a highly personalised curriculum, providing each student with qualification opportunities to help them access further education and training.
  • Providing them with key adults who are emotionally available, unpicking the way our students present and supporting them every step of the way.
  • Having a sense of belonging and pride in our community, fostered with high expectations for their own achievements whilst at Oak Lodge and beyond.

Kings Oak School and Oak lodge are committed to promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion throughout the school and provision. By recognising and appreciating individual needs and differences we demonstrates our respect for the communities that we serves and is a place where both students and staff thrive.
