“If you don't know history, then you don't know anything. You are a leaf that doesn't know it is part of a tree."     Michael Crichton

Our History curriculum has been designed to cover all of the skills, knowledge and understanding as set out in the National Curriculum. Our historians will be taught to make links between sources to interpret how people around the world have interacted and how interpretations of these sources may differ.

What makes historians unique? … Historians write as accurately as possible stories of past people places and events. Historians want to discover study and interpret new findings. Historians use the historic method to draw conclusions of history and how it affects us.

The discipline of history involves both the study and interpretation of the past. Historians gather and analyze various forms of historical evidence and synthesize them to increase our collective understanding of human societies and how they change over time.

The world is constantly evolving and historians play an important role in synthesizing and recording the events of the past. Their efforts make it possible for individuals and societies to learn from history in order to chart a better course for the future.

History allows are boys the future decision makers to learn from the mistakes of the past and understand that humanity continues to evolve and change in its outlook and interactions as we move through the centuries.

A boy who embraces History is a boy who is empowered to change the world.
