The King's Oak family take Safeguarding very seriously. Staff are routinely trained in a wide variety of safeguarding issues including FGM, social media, child on child abuse, domestic violence, coercive behaviours, PACE, CHANEL etc.

The school has two DSL's (Designated Safeguarding Leads) :

Mrs Jill Smith - Head of School is the Lead DSL

Mr Meic Griffiths - Executive Head is the Deputy DSL

All Senior Leadership have received DSL training in 2023 and are all able to become the lead/deputy DSL if needed. As a Federation, if there is an issue, we have a Lead DSL at the Primary School - Neal Collard and the SLT at Waterside are also DSL trained.

Both have had their training updated and refreshed in 2023.

All staff will have read and signed the following:

• Keeping Children Safe in Education September 2023
• Safeguarding Policy 2023
• Received update training in 2024 on the updates issued by the DfE

They will have all received update training in September 2023 as part of their initial INSET on Safeguarding led by both DSL's following the Royal Borough of Greenwich's format and presentation.
